Swallows at Birkheads
We have lots of trees, shrubs, perennials and alpines flowering in the gardens, some at least 2 weeks early on previous years. Late wild daffodils, tulips and Camassia are coming into flower. The wildflower meadow is full of the aptly named snakeshead fritillaries and cowslips. The Lapwings, Curlews and Skylarks are filling the garden with wonderful sounds, competing with the tiny garden birds, we’ve also spotted a Black cap this week but not many swallows.
