We’re still deadheading and tidying but visitors will see 3 areas being revamped;  In the Cottage Garden part of the roadside border will be replanted after a spot of shrub pruning. The shrub in question turned out to have been suffocated by ivy  and was removed. Another planting opportunity there, after we’ve cleared the ivy. Apparently pigs are good at clearing ivy but in the absence of any animals, its down to mere humans!

We’re creating a new wildflower area to complement the Crocus & Colchicum bed. It will flower during mid season next year with poppies, campion  & anthriscus. The grass has been sprayed off to enable this and will look parched for a few weeks. The Colchicums SHOULD still flower at the end of September. We have some colchicum agrippum in flower this week.
