New Years Eve 2016 3 Betula jacquemontii in the winter wonderland! Just completed bulb planting and grass cutting this afternoon. Very late for cutting grass but hopefully it’ll be worth the risk when the snowdrops don’t have as much grass to push through in February. Happy New Year Everyone!

I can’t even begin to describe the beauty & fragrance of this group of plants-they’re flowering now and for the next few weeks, easy to grow, the ancient greeks called it the Queen of all herbs, reputedly discovered on Mt Olympus and used throughout the ages to treat a wide range of ailments, I can’t believe anyone could tear one apart to make medicine!
